Firehole River

Firehole River, Yellowstone National Park, WY
Canon PowerShot SD770 IS
OK, I think this is the Firehole River.  There is actually a Firehole River, isn't there?  Pretty sure.  If not, it ought to be called Firehole River, it's a great name.

Bobcat

Bobcat -- Pinnacles National Park, CA
Canon EOS Rebel T5i, EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS II, 1/400s, f/5.6, ISO: 800
There aren't too many things in life that I find more exciting than seeing wildlife in their natural habitats.  Pongo and I bumped into this Bobcat a few months ago at Pinnacles National Park.  He didn't seem to be too bothered by our presence.  I suppose he figured he could easily handle the two of us if he had to.

Contemplating a Putt

Spyglass Hill Golf Course, Pebble Beach, CA
Here's a rare picture of me.  It was taken by my son.  I'm discussing a putt with our caddie Jon.  He was awesome.  Playing with a caddie is a lot of fun, but also a little strange because I'm not a very good golfer in spite of the fact I've been playing the game for twenty-five years and he was clearly a much better golfer than me even though I never saw him swing a club.  My wife gave Sam and me a weekend at Pebble Beach a few years ago.  It was a bucket list weekend for both of us.  We played both Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill.

Hauled Out

Southern Sea Otter -- Moss Landing, CA
Canon EOS Rebel T5i, EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS II, 1/2000s, f/5.6, ISO: 800
Sea otters spend most of their time in the water, but they do haul out occasionally.  It's not uncommon to see one or two on the beaches of Moss Landing's harbor.  This guy was near the seals on the sand bar.  He was quite large, almost as big as some of the smaller adult seals.

This photo is cropped a lot, but it's still pretty clear.  Sometimes I get lucky.
